That’s what it’s all about
Two Harkonnen sisters battle forces that threaten the future of humanity and have found the legendary sect that has become known as the Bene Gesserit. Whether exploring the stars, escaping dystopias, or making the world a better place, these women are what science fiction is all about. This series uses material from Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson’s Great Schools of Dune trilogy.

A prequel to the original Dune, which tells the story of how Sister Rossak evolved into the Bene Gesserit. The incident with Valya Harkonnen using the voice is from “Mentats of Dune.” All three books weave together the evolution of the Sisterhood, the Mentats, the Navigators, and the Suk Doctors. I don’t mean to be critical of the first episode of a TV show, but this was average on every level. The acting was subpar, except for a few well-known actors like Mark Strong, Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, and maybe Travis Fimmel.
The story was very light and the dialogue wasn’t overly dramatic
The rest of the cast felt like they just came out of a film academy or something. I like slow-moving dramas that take forever to build up because I know the payoff is worth waiting for. But this wasn’t just slow, there was a lot going on, but it was just boring, I don’t know how else to put it. The soundtrack that permeates the films was a little off here, with a few familiar sounds here and there, but the timing just wasn’t right.
My question is, did he enjoy doing it?
It was like I heard a lot of music here that had no effect. It reminded me of how much time I spend just talking to people in movies, and then, boom, Hans Zimmer’s magic, and I’m excited. But I know it wasn’t part of the sound here, and I don’t have to check it. I’m not sure if Denis Villeneuve was involved in this production, I hope not.
It makes you think
Will a regular TV show like this after two epic films affect the highly anticipated third film? I ask because The Penguin was so good that I appreciated Batman even more after watching it, and I can’t wait for the second film. So how would Dune: Prophecy affect the third film, if there is one.
