Making People Feel They Are Not Alone is the first feature film by award-winning short film and television director Anthony Schatteman. As he said at the Berlinale, he made a film that he himself would have liked to have seen when he was young and struggling with his feelings. I have been waiting for this film for almost 2 years, and it was worth the wait… The world premiere of “Young Hearts” took place in 2024. The film premiered on February 17th in the Generation 14plus section of the Berlin International Film Festival, and was immediately compared by critics to Arti (2022), and I This film would be staged alongside Hjartasteinn (2016) and Noordzee, Texas (2011). It is the kind of event that goes down in cinema history, with incredibly good performances by Lou Goossens and Marius De Saeger, who have no previous film experience. With compositions by Ruben De Gheselle, accompanied by Pieter Van Campe’s skillful use of camerawork, “Junge Herzen” was shown in September 2024 as part of the Queer Film Festival in Germany, but its general global release will take place in the first weeks of 2025.
